Islamabad Traffic Police Launches ‘Mechanic on Wheels’ Service for Motorists

 

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has introduced its new “Mechanic on Wheels” service to assist motorists whose vehicles break down on roads across the federal capital. Operating under the slogan “Where your car stops, help arrives,” the initiative is aimed at providing quick roadside support to drivers.

The mobile service will assist with common vehicle problems such as flat tyres, battery failures, mechanical or electrical faults, fuel shortages, and other minor roadside issues. Trained mechanics will travel to the vehicle’s location and provide on-site assistance, helping motorists avoid extended delays and potentially unsafe roadside situations.

Motorists can request assistance by calling the ITP helpline at 1915. Callers should provide their exact location and briefly explain the vehicle problem so the response team can arrange the appropriate assistance. Drivers are advised to remain in a safe location while waiting for the mechanic to arrive.

The initiative is expected to make travelling through Islamabad more convenient and safer by providing motorists with a direct source of help during unexpected breakdowns. The service could be particularly beneficial for drivers who experience vehicle problems while travelling on busy roads or away from nearby repair facilities.
