England Defeat Pakistan by an Innings and 103 Runs in First Test

 

England secured a commanding innings-and-103-run victory over Pakistan in the first Test at Headingley, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. England dominated across all three days, with their pace attack proving too strong for Pakistan’s batting lineup.

Pakistan were bowled out for 171 in their first innings, with England’s Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue taking five wickets each. England then responded with a massive 409, establishing a 238-run first-innings lead. Harry Brook, Joe Root, Jordan Cox and Dan Lawrence all made important contributions during England’s innings.

Pakistan struggled again in their second innings and were dismissed for just 135, giving England a comprehensive victory before the end of the third day. Josh Tongue and Ollie Robinson finished with eight wickets each in the match, while Pakistan will now look to regroup ahead of the second Test at Lord’s, starting August 27.
