PM Shehbaz Sharif Announces Rs. 128 Billion Relief Package for Public

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the federal government provided Rs. 128 billion in relief to protect citizens from the impact of rising fuel prices and inflation. The funds were used to reduce the financial burden on consumers during a period of sharp increases in international oil prices.

Speaking at a federal cabinet meeting, the prime minister said the relief was arranged by reducing allocations from the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). The move allowed the government to manage the impact of higher fuel costs while limiting the pressure on ordinary consumers.

Shehbaz Sharif also acknowledged the cooperation of the federal and provincial governments in protecting citizens from the economic challenges caused by rising prices. He said authorities also took steps to maintain fuel supplies in Pakistan at a time when several other countries were experiencing shortages and long queues.

The prime minister further said that any future improvement in the country’s economic situation would be shared with the public. He emphasized that the return of more stable regional and global conditions would be important for maintaining economic progress.

The government’s relief measures, he added, were aimed at providing support to citizens while navigating the challenges created by volatile international fuel prices and inflation.
