Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Strengthen Cooperation in AI and Data

 

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, data governance and emerging technologies, paving the way for a long-term technology partnership between the two countries.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) President Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi on the sidelines of the LEAP 2026 conference in Riyadh.

According to Pakistan’s state broadcaster, the meeting focused on developing a comprehensive and sustainable framework for collaboration in AI, data governance and advanced technologies.

Pakistan’s AI and Data Initiatives

During the meeting, Shaza Fatima briefed Alghamdi on Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to advance its national artificial intelligence strategy and strengthen data governance.

The minister highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to building a robust data ecosystem while accelerating the growth of its digital economy.

The two sides also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration in emerging technologies and establish a long-term mechanism for technology cooperation.

The discussions come as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continue to increase their focus on artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, technology development and data-driven innovation.
