Jamaat-e-Islami Introduces New Education Card Program

 

The Jamaat-e-Islami-led Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town administration has introduced an Education Card program for more than 600 students enrolled in six public schools, offering them uniforms, school bags, stationery and other essential educational materials.

The initiative comes after a similar program was launched in Gulberg Town. The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has said it aims to extend the Education Card program to around 50,000 students across its nine town administrations.

Speaking at the launch of the Education Card 2026 initiative, JI Karachi chief Monem Zafar said education remains a key part of the party’s broader vision for development and reconstruction.

He said providing children with quality education and protecting their future was among the party’s main priorities, adding that sustainable development could only be achieved through education.

Monem Zafar also praised the town chairman, his team and the education department for their efforts. He said the restoration and improvement of public schools had remained a major priority since the JI secured representation in the town administrations.

According to the JI leader, enrolment in government schools across Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town has increased considerably over the last three years.

He also criticized successive governments for failing to give sufficient attention to the education sector, pointing out that many public schools continue to face shortages of basic facilities.
