Major General (Retd) Sohail Sabir Takes Charge as UHS Lahore VC

 

Major General (Retd) Sohail Sabir has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, for a four-year term.

The Punjab government’s Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department issued the appointment notification on September 16, 2026.

According to the notification, the Punjab Governor, who also serves as Chancellor of UHS, appointed Sabir to the position with immediate effect. The appointment followed his submission of the required undertaking and affidavit agreeing to the specified terms and conditions.

Sabir’s appointment has been made under the provisions of the University of Health Sciences, Lahore Ordinance, 2002.
