LPG Prices Increased by Rs. 12.89 Per Kg as Household Cylinder Crosses Rs. 3,000

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices for August, raising the rate by Rs. 12.89 per kilogram. As a result, the price of a standard 11.8kg household LPG cylinder has exceeded Rs. 3,000, adding to the financial strain on consumers.

Under the revised notification, LPG will now be available at Rs. 254.32 per kilogram, while the price of a standard domestic cylinder has been fixed at Rs. 3,000.92 for August. The revised rates have taken effect immediately and will remain valid throughout the month unless OGRA issues a fresh notification.

The latest increase is expected to push up household expenses, particularly for families that rely on LPG for cooking and other everyday needs. The impact is likely to be greater in areas where natural gas is unavailable and LPG serves as the primary fuel source.

Small businesses that depend on LPG, including restaurants, tea stalls, bakeries, and other food outlets, are also expected to face higher operating costs due to the revised fuel prices.

Fluctuations in energy prices have a direct impact on the overall cost of living, and changes in LPG rates often affect both households and commercial users. The latest adjustment is expected to place additional pressure on consumers already coping with rising expenses.

OGRA reviews LPG prices on a monthly basis in line with market trends and other relevant factors before announcing revised rates. Consumers and businesses have been advised to adjust their budgets according to the updated prices, which will remain in force during August unless revised again.
