Tourism Update: Authorities Clamp Down on Unregistered Zipline Operations to Ensure Visitor Safety

The Swat District Administration, acting alongside the Swat Development Authority, has shut down and sealed multiple unlicensed zipline operations across major holiday spots for failing to secure mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

The regulatory enforcement took place during a joint field inspection that covered installations in Kalam’s scenic zones, including Mahodand Lake, Saifullah Lake, and Chashma Shafa Aabshar, alongside adjacent resort areas. Upon discovering that the recreational operators lacked official authorization, authorities immediately halted all rides and locked down the premises.

District officials have explicitly forbidden the service providers from restarting any zipline rides until they complete the formal licensing process and fulfill all necessary structural safety and security benchmarks.

The administration emphasized that this sudden crackdown is part of an ongoing initiative to protect tourists and bring commercial adventure sports across the valley into full compliance with provincial safety and legal regulations.
