Rescue 1122 Placed on High Alert as Heavy Rains Batter Rawalpindi and Islamabad

Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi has been placed on high alert as heavy monsoon rains continue to affect Rawalpindi and Islamabad, according to Rescue 1122 Media Coordinator Muhammad Usman Gujjar.

He said rescue teams have been deployed along Nullah Lai and in low-lying areas, including Katarian, Gawalmandi, and other locations vulnerable to flooding. The personnel will remain on standby throughout the ongoing spell of rain to respond quickly to any emergency.

Muhammad Usman Gujjar urged citizens to remain extremely cautious during the monsoon season. He advised parents to keep children away from Nullah Lai and avoid allowing them near electricity poles during rainfall.

Motorists have also been encouraged to drive carefully, reduce their speed, and remain alert on flooded roads. Residents living in low-lying and flood-prone areas have been advised to relocate to safer places before the risk of urban flooding increases.

The Rescue 1122 spokesperson further advised the public not to take shelter beneath weak or damaged structures, avoid crossing streams, nullahs, and flood channels, and stay away from tourist destinations that may be affected by heavy rainfall.

He also appealed to the public to immediately contact the Rescue 1122 emergency helpline by dialing 1122 if they encounter any emergency or require rescue assistance during the ongoing monsoon spell.
