Pakistan Navy Rescues 19 Crew Members From Stranded Fishing Boat

The Pakistan Navy safely rescued all 19 crew members from a stranded fishing vessel in the North Arabian Sea after the boat experienced an engine failure nearly 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar.

The vessel, Al Jalali, was carrying 11 Pakistani and 8 Iranian crew members. Harsh monsoon weather and rough sea conditions increased the danger, leaving the crew in need of immediate assistance.

The rescue operation was coordinated by the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), which promptly dispatched Pakistan Navy ship PNS Taimur to the location. Upon arrival, the naval team provided the crew with food, drinking water, and medical care before successfully towing the disabled vessel toward the coast despite challenging weather conditions.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the Pakistan Navy for its swift response and professional handling of the operation. He said the successful rescue reflected the Navy’s dedication to safeguarding lives at sea and its ability to respond effectively to maritime emergencies.
