Green Mobility: CM Maryam Nawaz Approves Distribution of 100,000 Electric Bikes for Punjab Students

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled plans to set up Nawaz Sharif Schools across every tehsil alongside distributing 100,000 free electric bikes to students to significantly enhance educational access across the province.

Addressing an official gathering in Arifwala, the chief minister highlighted the administration's resolve to upgrade public schools into state-of-the-art learning hubs that provide uniform academic opportunities regardless of a student's background. She further announced the upcoming rollout of 100,000 laptops and an additional 50,000 merit-based scholarships for the youth.

Maryam Nawaz explained that the Punjab government is channeling Rs. 40 billion into public school infrastructure to install new classrooms, high-quality furniture, clean drinking water systems, restrooms, fans, and other essential building amenities. To build modern competencies, specialized laboratories for science, computing, IT, and artificial intelligence (AI) are also being established throughout these institutions.

The chief minister added that the province aims to develop 300 highly advanced model schools across Punjab while steadily expanding the Green Electric Bus fleet to ensure students have access to safe, reliable daily commutes.

Concluding her speech, she urged parents to strictly monitor their children and keep them away from hazardous urban hazards during the ongoing monsoon rains, emphasizing the need for heightened safety vigilance after recent tragic incidents involving young children.
