Trade Operations Update: Karachi Port Secures Unprecedented Freight Processing Volume
The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has logged the greatest yearly freight volume processing in its 138-year operational timeline, establishing an unprecedented milestone of 54.685 million tons.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry declared that KPT had successfully overtaken its prior freight handling high.
He stated that the administration is sustaining structural overhauls intended to position Pakistan as a principal regional shipping and commercial center.
Initiatives to upgrade and scale up the nation's maritime docks have been stepped up, with an ongoing emphasis on streamlining logistics, pulling in capital investment, and overhauling dock infrastructure.
The minister also commended KPT Chairman Admiral Shahid Ahmed, alongside the port's management and workforce, for their dedication in hitting this milestone.
Chairman KPT Admiral Shahid Ahmed remarked that Karachi Port has considerably advanced its functional efficiency, cargo volume capacity, and corporate management.
He supplementary noted that additional steps are being executed to boost the harbor's competitive edge and fortify its standing as one of the territory's premier maritime gateways.
