Rainfall Predictions: Pakistan Meteorological Department Announces Anticipated Monsoon Start Date

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has projected that the monsoon period is anticipated to commence in various regions of the country starting July 1, with downpours forecast for northeastern Punjab, Kashmir, and northern territories.

PMD representative Anjum Nazir stated that monsoon currents are projected to penetrate the country via northeastern Punjab and Kashmir, delivering precipitation to northern zones and portions of Punjab.

He mentioned that Sindh is not predicted to experience monsoon precipitation over the next few days, adding that there is presently no indication of rainfall across the province through July 5.

Concerning Karachi, the representative noted that a low-pressure formation originating over the Bay of Bengal might trigger rain for the metropolis and alternative sectors of Sindh. Nevertheless, he pointed out that Karachi and the remainder of Sindh are projected to observe below-average precipitation during the current year's monsoon cycle.

Anjum Nazir additionally observed that India documented 43 percent below-average rainfall throughout the month of June.
