Mobile Learning: Lahore Announces Traveling Library Services to Benefit State-Run School Students

The Punjab academic administration has resolved to roll out a "Libraries on Wheels" initiative across public sector schools in Lahore to foster reading habits and digital literacy among pupils.

The enterprise, projected to require an investment of Rs. 198 million, will deploy an advanced traveling library network to elevate students' engagement with literature and electronic learning materials.

As part of the strategy, 85 battery-powered vehicles will be acquired and remodeled into traveling reading hubs. Every unit will come equipped with 20 state-of-the-art tablets alongside a substantial LED display to facilitate electronic and interactive educational exercises.

According to the framework, each traveling library will stop at a single campus per day following a predetermined timetable to deliver instructional benefits to the children. The transport units are scheduled to undergo daily recharging at specialized power bays established inside the campus grounds.

The District Education Authority remarked that the program is anticipated to cultivate book reading among the student body and contribute to raising the general instructional standards in state-run academies.

Chief Executive Officer Tariq Mahmood observed that cutting-edge digital infrastructure will be utilized to grant pupils access to high-tier learning materials, noting that both printed books and electronic academic multimedia will be supplied through the venture.
