Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (KP PDMA) has instructed all deputy commissioners to implement emergency measures in anticipation of an extreme heatwave forecast for the province's plains from May 8 to May 10.

According to the official advisory, peak daytime heat is expected to hit:
43°C to 47°C: Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Bannu, Karak, and Lakki Marwat.
39°C to 43°C: Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Haripur, and Kohat.
Weather Outlook
The PDMA noted that a minor westerly disturbance is predicted to reach most areas starting late May 10.

Administrative heads have been tasked with launching awareness drives, particularly targeting vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses.
