Punjab Set to Launch Advanced Tracking for Unpaid E-Challans

Punjab’s police force has crafted a strategy to launch an innovative monitoring framework for spotting counterfeit plates, traffic fine evaders, and wanted suspects province-wide.

According to security representatives, the initiative will feature patrol cars equipped with 360-degree imaging tech to survey streets and public locations while on the move.

Representatives indicated that the specialized cameras will track down non-paying drivers and fugitives in real time as the units circulate through different neighborhoods. Authorities confirmed the setup will be connected to the Safe Cities grid to provide immediate pings to ground teams.

Per official reports, the sensors will record and update information on cars and individuals within a 100-meter span, while also detecting over-weighted cargo. It was noted that battery-electric vehicles will be used to power the system to lower fuel consumption and maintenance costs.

Leadership confirmed that the debut vehicle is slated for completion next week and will be presented for the Punjab Chief Minister's endorsement. The initiative is reportedly being finished under the guidance of Additional Inspector General for Logistics and Procurement, Fawaduddin Qureshi.

Police sources stated that the program will initially be rolled out on designated Lahore roadways following approval. They added that every district across the province will eventually be allocated one to three surveillance units for localized oversight.

Authorities estimated the investment for each car, including its technical suite, at roughly Rs. 1 crore and 10 lakh. They emphasized that the project is expected to refine traffic coordination and help capture law-violators with greater precision.
