Government of Pakistan to Distribute Complimentary SIMs with Integrated Data and Call Bundles for Hajj Pilgrims

To enhance communication for Hajj travelers, the Pakistani authorities have launched an initiative to distribute complimentary SIM cards for use in Saudi Arabia. This move is designed to facilitate seamless contact with relatives and fellow group members, ensuring a more organized and stress-free travel experience.

Details from the Ministry of Religious Affairs indicate that the data and voice bundles are tailored to the duration of the stay. Long-duration pilgrims are set to receive 40GB of internet and 600 calling minutes, whereas those on the shorter itinerary will be allocated 25GB of data and 300 minutes for calls.

Official guidelines specify a limit of one SIM per traveler, linked directly to their valid passport credentials. Additionally, to assist with ongoing connectivity, balance recharge services will be conveniently accessible at specific residential hubs throughout Saudi Arabia.

Roughly 120,000 individuals are anticipated to participate in this year’s government-sponsored Hajj program. The inaugural flight operations are slated to commence on April 18, officially kicking off the 2026 pilgrimage season.
