Gladiators Gallop to Victory: Quetta Crush Qalandars in Karachi Clash

The Quetta Gladiators delivered a bowling masterclass to dismantle the Lahore Qalandars in their PSL 2026 encounter at the National Stadium Karachi. After Lahore opted to bat first, they were immediately stifled by a disciplined Quetta attack led by Usman Tariq and Jahandad Khan. Tariq was particularly devastating, claiming 3 wickets for just 18 runs, while Jahandad Khan also picked up a trio of scalps to prevent the Qalandars from ever finding their rhythm. Lahore was eventually bowled out for a subpar 134 in 19.5 overs, with Haseebullah Khan’s 33 being the only notable resistance in a disappointing batting display.

The Gladiators' chase began with a brief moment of tension as they slumped to 11/2 early on, but captain Rilee Rossouw and Hassan Nawaz quickly took control of the game. The pair combined for a decisive 104-run partnership that effectively killed off Lahore's hopes of a comeback. Rossouw anchored the innings with a composed, unbeaten 60 off 49 balls, while Nawaz played the role of the aggressor, smashing 49 off 32 deliveries including six boundaries and two sixes. Their chemistry in the middle turned a potentially tricky chase into a comfortable stroll under the lights.

Quetta wrapped up the victory in the 17th over, finishing at 138/4 to secure a dominant 6-wicket win with 22 balls to spare. Bevon Jacobs provided the finishing touches with two massive sixes to seal the points and boost Quetta’s standing in the tournament. On the other side, the defending champions Lahore were left to rue a complete lack of intent with the bat, as they failed to defend a modest total. For his exceptional spell that broke the back of the Lahore lineup, Usman Tariq was deservedly named the Player of the Match.
