New MG Electric SUV (IM6) Seen in Pakistan

PakWheels reports the car was discovered within a container, with leaked photos showing a black vehicle wearing IM6 badging. The sighting suggests MG might be preparing for a near-term local release, possibly introducing a second IM-branded car as well.

IM, which stands for Intelligence in Motion, is a high-end electric vehicle venture established by SAIC Motor in partnership with Alibaba and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech. As the majority shareholder, SAIC also serves as the parent group for MG.

Across various global markets, IM models are frequently sold under the MG brand, a branding approach expected to continue if the IM6 is released in Pakistan.

The MG IM6 is categorized as a premium, mid-sized all-electric crossover. In the global arena, it is positioned to challenge prominent rivals like the Tesla Model Y and the BYD Sealion 7.

Its core strength lies in its high-performance output. The flagship version utilizes a twin-motor AWD system delivering roughly 741 horsepower and 802 Nm of torque. It can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in only 3.48 seconds, ranking it among the fastest SUVs in its class.

Powering the IM6 is a 100 kWh battery, which provides a theoretical NEDC range of up to 600 km, while real-world WLTP figures sit near 500 km. It also features rapid-charging tech, with high-voltage DC support capable of boosting the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 17 minutes.

The IM6 has already made its debut in international territories such as China, Australia, the UK, Thailand, and the UAE. Pakistan may be added to this roster soon if MG moves forward with its local assembly or import plans.

Upon its arrival, the IM6 will compete in Pakistan's expanding electric crossover market. Potential rivals in this space include the Deepal S07, BYD Sealion 7, and the XPENG G6.

While there is no confirmed information regarding its price or launch timeline yet, the move seems likely given the intensifying competition in Pakistan’s EV sector.
