Private Schools Prohibited from Collecting Fees During Winter Vacations

Private schools in Quetta have been barred from collecting fees for the winter vacation period following a ruling by the Balochistan High Court.

Deputy Commissioner West Munir Ahmed Durrani has issued an official notification instructing private educational institutions to comply with the court’s decision. The directive seeks to ensure that schools do not charge parents for the winter break in violation of the ruling.

Authorities have warned that institutions failing to follow the order could face strict legal and administrative measures. Potential consequences include cancellation of school registration and the sealing of school premises.

The deputy commissioner has also encouraged parents to report any private school that unlawfully collects fees during the winter holidays. Complaints can be submitted to his office or the relevant education authorities for review and appropriate action.

The decision has renewed attention on fee collection practices during school holidays and the obligation of private institutions to comply with court rulings and applicable regulations.

Education-related expenses can place a financial burden on families, making compliance with fee regulations an important concern for parents. The latest directive provides a way for families to raise concerns if they believe a school is charging fees contrary to the court’s order.

Authorities have reiterated that action may be taken against institutions that disregard the notification. Parents are advised to keep fee vouchers, receipts and other relevant documents when reporting suspected violations.

The notification reinforces the requirement for private schools in Quetta to follow the Balochistan High Court’s ruling. Effective implementation will depend on schools’ compliance and the authorities’ response to complaints received from parents.
