Only 3 Out of 1,024 Candidates Clear KP Civil Judge Examination

Only three out of 1,024 candidates have successfully cleared the written examination for civil judge recruitment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leaving the majority of the 105 advertised positions without qualified candidates.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) announced the examination results on September 30, 2026. The vacancies had been advertised by the Peshawar High Court in April, with 3,097 applications received for the posts. Of these, 1,024 candidates appeared in the written examination.

The successful candidates are Saba Rasool from South Waziristan, Abdullah Noor from Bajaur and Syed Zahid Hussain from Mardan.

The results revealed significant differences in candidates’ performance across various subjects. Only 149 candidates cleared the English General and English Essay papers, while 687 out of 1,005 candidates failed the General Knowledge paper. Meanwhile, 803 candidates passed Criminal Law and 775 candidates cleared the Qanun-e-Shahadat and Pleadings paper.

The results have prompted concerns among lawyers across the province. The KP Bar Council has called for a review of the examination and raised questions regarding the recruitment procedure and marking criteria.

The Peshawar High Court Bar Association has also approached the Peshawar High Court, requesting access to examination records and seeking a review of the announced results.
