FIA Expands International Reach to Track Pakistanis in 8 Countries

Pakistan has expanded the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) overseas immigration network to eight countries as part of efforts to address human smuggling, trafficking, and immigration-related fraud.

FIA immigration offices operating through Pakistani missions in Oman, Iran, Greece, the UK, Italy, Spain, Türkiye, and the UAE coordinate with local authorities on immigration-related matters.

The offices are responsible for verifying Pakistani nationality and travel documents, assisting detained Pakistani nationals, coordinating repatriation, and supporting cases involving illegal migration and immigration fraud.

The government is also considering establishing FIA immigration offices in Saudi Arabia and Poland, which could further expand Pakistan’s overseas capacity to address immigration-related crimes.

These FIA immigration functions are separate from the responsibilities of Community Welfare Attachés, who primarily deal with employment-related issues and the welfare of Pakistani workers living abroad.
