Punjab Education Boards to Recruit Staff After 15-Year Gap

 

The Punjab government has started the process of filling vacant positions across several educational boards in the province, addressing staffing shortages that have remained unresolved for years.

The vacancies include positions such as Computer Programmer, Assistant, Senior Computer Operator, Deputy Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Estate Officer at boards including Lahore and Faisalabad. The Lahore Board is set to recruit for 33 positions in BS-16 and BS-17, with appointments to be made through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).

The recruitment drive is expected to strengthen the administrative capacity of education boards and improve the efficiency of their day-to-day operations. Some boards have reportedly been operating with vacant positions for nearly 15 years, creating a long-standing shortage of administrative staff.

The Education Department said the new appointments will help improve the overall functioning of the boards and ensure that important vacancies are filled through a transparent recruitment process.

Officials further emphasized that all appointments will be made strictly on merit, with candidates required to meet the prescribed qualifications and selection criteria. The recruitment is expected to provide fresh administrative support to Punjab’s education boards after years of limited hiring.
