Pakistan’s Readymade Garment Exports Reach Record $4.18 Billion
Pakistan’s readymade garment exports climbed to a record $4.18 billion during the 2025–26 fiscal year, marking the highest annual export earnings ever achieved by the sector. The figure represents a 5.5 percent increase compared with the previous fiscal year.
The milestone reflects rising international demand for Pakistani apparel and the industry’s growing competitiveness in global markets. Over the last decade, readymade garment exports have more than doubled, increasing from $1.97 billion in FY2015–16 to the current record level.
The garment industry continues to be one of Pakistan’s leading export sectors, making a significant contribution to foreign exchange earnings, employment generation, and overall economic growth. The United States, along with European markets including Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, remains among the country's key export destinations.
Industry analysts attribute the strong performance to improved production capacity, enhanced manufacturing standards, and increasing global demand for value-added apparel. They believe further investment in advanced technology, product development, and market diversification will help sustain the sector’s growth.
The record export performance reinforces Pakistan’s standing in the global apparel industry and provides an encouraging outlook for future export growth and increased foreign exchange earnings.
