Nishat Group Set to Launch Boxy iCAUR V23 and V27 SUVs in Pakistan This Year
Nishat Group is set to expand Pakistan’s electric vehicle landscape this year by introducing Chery's new-energy sub-brand, iCAUR. The upcoming lineup features two distinct SUVs catering to different driving needs: the fully electric iCAUR V23 and the range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) iCAUR V27. While Nishat Group has not yet disclosed official pricing, both models are scheduled for a local launch this year to offer local buyers a choice between pure battery power and long-distance hybrid flexibility.
The iCAUR V23 serves as the entry-level compact option, bringing a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive pure electric powertrain to the market. Powered by an 81.76 kWh NMC battery pack, its twin electric motors generate a combined 208 hp and 292 Nm of torque, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds alongside a claimed NEDC driving range of 430 km. Designed with genuine off-road capability in mind, the V23 boasts 210 mm of ground clearance, a 43-degree approach angle, a 41-degree departure angle, and a water wading depth of 600 mm. Beyond its six terrain-driving modes, regenerative braking, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, the SUV comes heavily equipped with safety hardware, including six airbags, a 540-degree 3D camera system, and a Level 2 ADAS suite featuring adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, lane departure prevention, and traffic jam assist.
For drivers prioritizing long-distance travel without range anxiety, the larger iCAUR V27 utilizes an advanced REEV powertrain. Its wheels are driven exclusively by dual electric motors—a 150 kW front motor and a 185 kW rear motor—while a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine operates purely as an onboard generator to recharge the battery on the go. Delivering a total output of 449 hp and 505 Nm of torque, the V27 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Its 34.31 kWh battery yields a pure EV range of 150 km, which expands to a total combined range of 995 km, with DC fast charging replenishing the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. Equipped with adaptive damping, multiple drive modes, a maximum towing capacity of 1,600 kg, six airbags, a 540-degree camera, a Driver Monitoring System, roll stability control, and Level 2 ADAS, the V27 combines high performance with broad utility.
