Heavy Bike Entry: 250cc and 500cc Honda Motorcycles May Soon Arrive in the Pakistani Market
Atlas Honda is positioning itself to penetrate the premium two-wheeler sector in Pakistan, signaling potential plans to debut 250cc and 500cc motorcycles should the market demand for heavy-displacement bikes maintain its upward trajectory.
According to insights shared during the company's MY26 corporate briefing, management highlighted that the increasing popularity of larger-engine motorbikes—partially bolstered by a steady flow of foreign remittances—has prompted the manufacturer to look beyond its standard commuter models.
To sustain this momentum, the company is actively scaling its manufacturing operations. Atlas Honda's current annual capacity of 1.65 million units is on track to hit 2 million units by December 2026, backed by a capital investment of Rs. 5 to 6 billion. To fulfill current consumer demand, the factory is operating past its baseline capacity through vendor collaboration and overtime shifts.
Reflecting on broader market dynamics, the manufacturer noted that while the overall domestic motorcycle market has bounced back to roughly 2.3 million units, Chinese competitor sales have sharply dropped from their historic highs. Conversely, bikes exceeding the 100cc threshold are capturing a greater market share due to shifting buyer preferences.
Regarding alternative energy, Atlas Honda stated that no fresh capital will be directed toward electric vehicle assembly, maintaining that its current infrastructure is fully equipped to handle projected EV demand. Furthermore, the company clarified that it has kept its vehicle prices stable over the last three years—excluding mandatory government taxes—and expects rising agricultural revenues to keep driving sales across the country.
