IESCO Announces Scheduled Power Outages in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has issued a schedule for planned power cuts across selected areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal on Saturday, July 25, citing essential maintenance and grid upgrade activities. As per IESCO's notification, power distribution within the Islamabad Circle will be paused between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for locations fed by the Faisal Masjid, Ayub Market, HC-I, HC-II, G-9/4, Suparco, T&T, PTCL, G-8/1, G-8, G-8 Markaz, and Marvi lines. Within the Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, electricity will be cut off from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. across sectors powered by the Japan Road and Jhandala distribution networks. Throughout the Rawalpindi City Circle, power will be temporarily offline from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for consumers drawing from the Chairing Cross, Millatabad, and Askari-XI feeders. For the Attock Circle, residents on the Fawara Chowk line are scheduled to experience a power disruption running from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Across the Jhelum Circle, the supply will be disconnected between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. in neighborhoods linked to the City Housing, Sanghoi, Safdar Shaheed, Nathwala, and Langarpur feeders. For the Chakwal Circle, power flow will be halted from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in localities relying on the Abdullah Pur, Jalal Pur, Sagharpur, and CWO lines.

 Furthermore, IESCO highlighted upcoming interruptions in parts of its GSO Circle owing to repair operations. Impacted zones comprise RA Bazar, AWT, Mall Road, AFIC, Tench Bhatta, CMH, Qasim Market, Sprint Mall, Kiyani Road, Army Flats, New GHQ, Hospital Road, NLC, Zeeshan Colony, Haider Road, Canning Road, alongside adjacent sectors. System maintenance will likewise affect multiple 132kV transmission circuits and grid infrastructure in Taxila, Sangjani, Burhan, Kahuta City, Palandri, New Wah, and Bahtermore during varying time windows. IESCO expressed regret over the short-term disruption, reassuring the public that electrical services will resume immediately once technical tasks are finalized, potentially earlier than the designated timeframe.
