Weather Alert: Intense Storms Force Delays and Cancellations at Allama Iqbal International Airport

Intense downpours and powerful gusts surrounding Allama Iqbal International Airport generated major disruptions to airline schedules on Sunday, compelling multiple aircraft to hover aloft as touchdown conditions grew hazardous.

Based on aviation reports, Air Traffic Control (ATC) withheld landing clearances for several domestic and overseas flights on account of diminished visibility and extreme wind velocities.

Among the impacted operations was flight PF 145 inbound from Karachi, which was obliged to loop above the metropolis after ATC personnel concluded that the atmospheric conditions posed too great a risk for arrival.

In a similar manner, overseas arrivals faced setbacks, including Flight OD 131 departing from Kuala Lumpur and AirAsia Flight PF 787 inbound from Dubai. Both passenger jets were directed to maintain a holding sequence until the weather patterns cleared up.

Airport administrators noted that the brief operational halt was an indispensable safety measure designed to protect runway integrity and passenger well-being during the tempest.

Though a number of aircraft received clearance to land as the severity of the downpour lessened, numerous travelers encountered substantial delays. Airport personnel persist in tracking weather changes vigilantly to handle the accumulation of delayed arrivals and departures.
