Pakistan Reveals 15-Man Roster for 2026 Asian Games
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled a 15-man men’s cricket roster for the upcoming 2026 Asian Games, naming seasoned batsman Sahibzada Farhan as the team's captain for the event.
The cricket tournament is set to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, running from September 17 to October 3. The men’s T20 segment will kick off on September 24 at Korogi Athletic Park within the Aichi Prefecture, with the podium matches wrapping up on October 3.
Sahibzada Farhan provides significant international expertise to the lineup. He has featured for Pakistan in 46 T20 Internationals, accumulating 1,305 runs across the format alongside two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
Abdul Samad has been designated as the vice-captain. He has made five T20 International appearances for the national side.
The selection showcases a blend of seasoned competitors and rising prospects. Fast bowler Akif Javed, batsman Maaz Sadaqat, paceman Ali Raza, and Saad Masood are all awaiting their official T20I debuts for Pakistan.
Fourteen representatives from this roster are likewise participating in the National Cricket Academy’s White-Ball Camp, which is slated to commence in Lahore on June 15.
The 10-side men’s cricket tournament will include automatic qualifiers India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the host nation, Japan. Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Oman secured the final remaining berths via the qualifying rounds.
