Budget 2026-27: Government Staff Seek Massive 200% Pay Elevation and 500% Allowance Augmentation

The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) has demanded a 200% surge in public sector salaries alongside a 500% spike in house rent, healthcare, and allied benefits prior to the Federal Budget 2026–27 announcement.

Per press coverage, APCA’s central command has forwarded a six-item list of requirements to administration officials and declared a demonstration in Islamabad on June 2 to enforce compliance. The union asserts that state workers are enduring intense fiscal stress stemming from escalating inflation and increased domestic expenses, rendering the existing pay scales insufficient. APCA has further insisted on a sweeping overhaul of allowances, maintaining that current perks fail to reflect present-day economic realities.

The coalition has pressed the administration to discard any schemes involving the privatization of state-owned entities. APCA executives emphasize that the cost of living has drastically diminished the purchasing capacity of civil servants, inflicting immense hardship on workers and their households. To advocate for these adjustments before the financial budget is finalized, the union has rallied public employees nationwide to join the upcoming protest rally inside the capital city.

Law enforcement agencies in the federal capital have reportedly initiated tactical security arrangements in anticipation of the scheduled assembly.
