DC Islamabad Announces Six Official Cattle Market Locations; Operations Begin May 10

 

The Islamabad Deputy Commissioner has formally designated six specific zones for livestock markets across the capital for the upcoming Eid ul Adha, with trading set to begin on May 10. This move is designed to assist residents in acquiring sacrificial animals through a structured and supervised system leading up to the holiday.

As per the official notification, these authorized sites will be located at Zia Masjid, I-12, Barakahu, Lehtrar Road (near Sultana Foundation), Sangjani, and Japan Road. These spots were chosen to provide convenient access for people living in various sectors and suburban neighborhoods. The administration has directed all relevant agencies to finalize logistics early, including ample parking, effective waste management, potable water access, and tightened security to handle the expected crowds.

Furthermore, administrative magistrates will be stationed at these sites 24/7 to manage the markets' daily activities. Their role involves supervising transactions, preventing price gouging, and resolving any grievances from the public regarding illegal trade practices or inflated costs.

The capital's administration has also enforced a total prohibition on the trading of sacrificial animals in any area outside these six sanctioned locations. This measure is intended to streamline the livestock market, stop unauthorized street vending, and preserve urban cleanliness.
