Counter-Terrorism Strike: 11 Militants Eliminated as Security Operations Intensify in Waziristan

Up to 11 militants associated with Fitna al-Khawarij were neutralized during an intelligence-driven raid (IBO) conducted by security personnel within the Datta Khel sector of North Waziristan, ARY News reported, quoting the military’s press division, ISPR.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a fierce gunbattle erupted between law enforcement personnel and the insurgents during the raid, culminating in the elimination of the Khawarij.

Furthermore, multiple sanctuaries belonging to the Khawarij were struck throughout the past 48 hours. A massive stockpile of heavy weaponry, munitions, and blasting agents was seized from their custody.

The neutralized insurgents were reportedly implicated in a multitude of subversive operations.

The ISPR further noted that a sweep operation is currently active within the vicinity. Defense forces reconfirmed their commitment to persist with campaigns against militancy under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam at maximum strength.

Defense personnel and law enforcement bureaus voiced their dedication to purge extremism from the state.

Earlier on the same day, Pakistani security elements, through a coordinated sweep in Bannu, neutralized 16 khawarij.

According to specifications, a combined strike executed by the Pakistan Army, police forces, and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) within the Bannu zone culminated in the termination of 16 khawarij, encompassing two high-ranking field leaders.

The sweep was initiated within the Miryan sector following tactical insights pointing to the deployment of khawarij. Defense authorities noted that multiple insurgent bases were demolished during the assault.

Prominent among the deceased was Zamri Noor, categorized by authorities as a central khawarij leader responsible for generating terror and volatility across the zone, along with an Afghan citizen named Abdullah Saeed.

Two law enforcement personnel also lost their lives over the course of the engagement while executing their responsibilities. The fallen personnel were identified as Constables Waheedullah Khan and Noorullah Khan.

Last rites for the fallen personnel were conducted at the Bannu Police Lines, where high-ranking administrative and defense commanders, clan chiefs, and regional citizens gathered in significant volumes.

Defense authorities mentioned that anti-terror campaigns against insurgent networks were proceeding at maximum momentum, noting that integrated strikes by law enforcement and defense networks would endure until subversion is completely uprooted from the territory.
