The Galaxy A37 and A57 evolve a winning strategy through significant boosts in speed and photo quality
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57, aiming to maintain the momentum of their highly successful predecessors. Following a year where the Galaxy A56 dominated European sales charts and the A36 secured its place as a fan favorite, these new iterations stick to a proven blueprint while enhancing the chassis, internal power, and AI-driven photography.
Design and Display
The Galaxy A57 sees a notable physical refinement, sporting a thinner 6.9mm metal frame and a lighter 179g body—a sleek departure from the A56’s 7.4mm profile and 198g weight. It also steps up to an IP68 rating for superior durability against the elements.
While the Galaxy A37 keeps its familiar 7.4mm plastic construction and 196g weight, it also benefits from an upgraded IP68 water and dust resistance rating (up from IP67). Both handsets boast 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panels featuring 1080p+ resolutions and fluid 120Hz refresh rates, likely shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus+.
A57 Colors: Awesome Navy, Gray, Icyblue, and Lilac.
A37 Colors: Awesome Lavender, Charcoal, Graygreen, and White.
Internals and Software
Under the hood, the Galaxy A57 utilizes the Exynos 1680 (4nm), paired with an Xclipse 550 GPU. Its updated neural engine hits 19.6 TOPS, providing a significant jump in AI processing over the previous model, supported by a 13% larger vapor chamber for better heat management. The Galaxy A37, meanwhile, adopts the capable Exynos 1480 chip.
Storage & Memory
Memory and storage options for the Galaxy A37 include 6GB, 8GB, or 12GB of RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The Galaxy A57 offers 8GB or 12GB of RAM and comes with storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB, although specific configurations may vary by market.
Both devices debut with One UI 8.5 (Android 16) and come with a commitment for six years of OS and security support. The A57 specifically gains exclusive AI tools, including Best Face for burst shots, Auto Trim for video, an enhanced Object Eraser, and AI-powered Voice Transcription.
Cameras
Photography is anchored by a 50MP main sensor ($f/1.8$) on both models, featuring upgraded "Nightography" for clearer low-light results. Selfies are handled by a 12MP front camera ($f/2.2$) on both units.
For secondary lenses, the A57 carries a 12MP ultrawide, whereas the A37 uses an 8MP ultrawide; both include a 5MP macro lens to round out the triple-camera array.
Battery and Pricing
Power is supplied by a 5,000mAh battery in both phones, now supporting 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0. This allows for a 0% to 60% recovery in roughly half an hour.
The lineup hits shelves around April 9 or 10, depending on local markets. In the U.S., the Galaxy A37 is priced starting at $450, with the Galaxy A57 beginning at $550.
