Tentative Match Dates Set for Pakistan’s Upcoming ODI Clash with Australia
A preliminary timetable has been disclosed for Pakistan’s forthcoming home ODI series against the Australian cricket squad, with every game expected to take place at Gaddafi Stadium, insiders reported.
The suggested strategy features a three-game series, representing another significant international commitment on home territory for the Pakistan national cricket side.
According to informants, the opening match is slated for May 31, with the subsequent two contests following on June 2 and June 4. The formal schedule will be finalized by the Pakistan Cricket Board in the near future.
Pakistan vs Australia ODI Series
| Match | Date | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| 1st ODI | May 31 | Gaddafi Stadium |
| 2nd ODI | June 2 | Gaddafi Stadium |
| 3rd ODI | June 4 | Gaddafi Stadium |
The upcoming matches hold extra importance as they mark Australia’s initial return to Pakistan for a 50-over contest since 2022. During that previous encounter, Pakistan managed to clinch a 2–1 win across the three-game ODI series.
In historical terms, Australia has been the dominant force in ODI matchups, holding a 71–36 advantage over Pakistan in 111 games, while four fixtures concluded without a clear result.
Following the conclusion of their Pakistan tour, Australia will journey to Bangladesh for a comprehensive men’s limited-overs series in June 2026, breaking a 15-year hiatus for bilateral ODI cricket in that nation. Those one-day matches are set for June 9, 11, and 14 at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
The itinerary then shifts to Chattogram for a trio of T20Is on June 17, 19, and 21, hosted at Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium.
Simultaneously, Pakistan is gearing up for a vital red-ball trip to Bangladesh, featuring a two-game Test series under the ICC World Test Championship umbrella. This represents their opening Test commitment since they played against the South African national side last October, a series that resulted in a 1–1 deadlock.
The opening Test is slated for Dhaka between May 8 and 12, with the following match occurring at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from May 16 to 20.
Shan Masood remains in charge of the lineup, while four new faces—Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori—have been officially summoned to join the national team.
Later in the calendar year, Pakistan is also booked to participate in Test series against England, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.
