Official PTA Notice: Update Your CNIC Records or Face Mobile Service Suspension

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released a vital update for mobile subscribers concerning the status of their cellular connections.

As per the PTA’s directive, it is mandatory for users to verify that their SIM cards are associated with a current and valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). Connections tied to lapsed or voided identity documents face imminent deactivation, which would lead to a total loss of mobile service.

Furthermore, the regulatory body cautioned that maintaining SIM cards registered under deceased persons could carry legal consequences. Subscribers are strongly urged to refresh their documentation right away to prevent any service outages. Neglecting to update or renew a CNIC will lead to the suspension of the SIM card, causing major disruptions to personal and professional communication.

The PTA has also instructed users to cross-check their personal data with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to confirm record accuracy. This initiative is designed to uphold the security of the telecommunications infrastructure while curbing potential fraud and identity misuse.

According to the PTA, these protocols are essential to their mission of providing a protected and consistent telecom environment. Users are advised to act quickly in updating their CNIC information to stay connected without interruption.

The authority remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of the nationwide telecommunications network for all citizens.
