Modernized B-Form System Implemented by NADRA
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has rolled out a redesigned B-Form framework, modifying the protocol for issuing identification papers to citizens both domestically and internationally.
Under the revised guidelines, children will be issued individual B-Forms across three distinct phases, with each document carrying a set expiration date. These records will now incorporate photographs and, in subsequent phases, biometric authentication.
Per the new regulations, the initial B-Form is provided at birth and does not require a photo. This version stays valid until the child’s third birthday.
Upon reaching age three, a second B-Form must be obtained, which will now feature the child’s image. This document serves as valid identification until the child turns ten.
Once a child surpasses ten years of age, a final B-Form update is required. This stage integrates the child’s photograph along with an iris scan and fingerprinting. This version remains in effect until they reach the age of eighteen.
Parents are instructed to complete birth registration at their local Union Council within thirty days and secure the primary B-Form from NADRA.
Furthermore, guardians are urged to process renewals promptly as each validity window closes. To update the document, parents may either take the child to a NADRA service center or utilize the Pak-ID mobile app for a remote application.
This modernized approach is designed to maintain accurate, age-appropriate identification records as children grow.
