Chawla Green Motors Introduces More Affordable Dongfeng Box EV to Pakistani Market

Chawla Green Motors has introduced a more cost-effective version of its electric vehicle, the Dongfeng Box EV, to the Pakistani market. The latest variant, the Smart 330, is available for Rs. 5.5 million. This price point sits approximately Rs. 900,000 below the previous entry-level model, which featured a greater driving range.

The Smart 330 provides a range of up to 330 kilometers on a single charge. Although this is less than the 430 km offered by higher-tier models, it serves as a more accessible entry point for consumers entering the electric car sector. Pakistan's Dongfeng Box lineup now consists of three distinct choices: the Smart 330, Lux 430, and Flagship 430.

This development highlights an industry-wide push to make electric mobility more affordable for local drivers. Lowering the barrier to entry is expected to drive adoption, particularly as traditional fuel costs continue to climb.

Simultaneously, Capital Smart Motors has launched the JMEV EV3, heightening competition in the affordable EV market. With an increasing variety of models hitting the road, the electric vehicle landscape in Pakistan is steadily growing.
